This stately traditional family compound was built around 1865 by a member of the Man clan to commemorate his imperial elevation to the Scholar rank. Tai Fu Tai is constructed of granite and green bricks, with elaborate woodcarvings and stained-glass panes. The building, declared a historical monument in 1987, with its unique architectural fusion of Chinese and Western styles, is now rare in Hong Kong.
Visiting hours are from 9am to 1pm; and 2pm to 5pm daily, except Tuesdays.
